This publication contains two texts analysing the current challenges facing the European Union. The first is a conference by Dr Pat Cox, president of the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe and former president of the European Parliament, delivered on 16 May 2024 in Luxembourg. The second is an enriched version of Dr Gilles Grin’s intervention, director of the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe and lecturer at the University of Lausanne, presented on 17 April 2024 in Geneva.
